About this stay

Lone Cedar Cabin – A Rustic Getaway in the Woods Nestled on 50 secluded acres in the foothills of Arkansas’ Ouachita Mountains, Lone Cedar Cabins offers a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, history, and the simple pleasures of life. We are just 8 miles from DeGray Lake State Park and 18 miles from Hot Springs National Park, making us a wonderful home base for exploring the area while still enjoying your own quiet corner of the woods. Since beginning our journey in 1991, we have built our cabins with our own hands, using reclaimed wood and materials salvaged from old barns and homes. Each structure has its own character and story, reflecting our love for history, craftsmanship, and a simpler time. Our Lone Cedar Cabin, with its red cedar exterior and rustic interior, brings that same spirit to life. With soaring 16-foot ceilings and spacious windows that bring the outdoors inside, the living room feels open and inviting while still offering a cozy place to unwind. Whether you’re relaxing in front of the gas log fireplace, watching a favorite movie, playing a board game, or simply enjoying the views from the covered porch, this is a place to slow down and leave the everyday hustle behind. The full-size kitchen is convenient to the dining area, making meals easy and comfortable. Upstairs, the cozy loft features a queen-size bed, while the jetted tub offers a relaxing end to the day. Step outside and enjoy the privacy of your own outdoor shower, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the woods. A favorite getaway for honeymooners, couples, and small families, Lone Cedar Cabin is literally at the “End of the Trail.” Here, roughing it means trading crowded hotels and busy schedules for a peaceful setting, wildlife outside your window, and a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed. You’re close to some of Arkansas’ most popular attractions, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet, beauty, and simple pleasures of the great outdoors.

A NOTE FROM THE CABIN KEEPERS: It is our hope that our passion for detail is evident in the building and decoration of our cabins. We have personally torn down old houses and barns. Each reclaimed piece is used with care and thoughtful placement. The landscape that surrounds us is our inspiration. The peaceful valley with its endless trees sets our minds at ease and is the perfect medicine even on the most stressful of days. If you haven’t visited Lone Cedar Cabins yet but want a taste of a simpler time, let us be your choice. It will be a decision you and your family will cherish. Gabe and Dawn
